Hi! I'm Kisha and I write.

I am a  criminal defense attorney that has turned to writing  in order to  keep my creative muscle strong.  I live at the intersection of history and storytelling, which is why most of what you'll get from me will be historical fiction.  

My favorite time period is the Civil Rights Movement.  By my definition, that is a large swath of time that goes all the way back to the time of the Underground Railroad and  ends in the late 60s or early 70s.

I am enormously inspired by Harriet Tubman, Thurgood Marshall, Zora Neale Hurston, and Toni Morrison.

I buy more books than I will ever read.  Books bring me comfort and I love to be surrounded by them.  My favorite genres to read are historical fiction and memoirs/autobiographies.

I'm currently working on my first novel, which  has a dual timeline.  My main characters exist during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and the presidential election of 2007.
